Donegal Rally Race
Unfortunately the charger for my camera has been missing, so I haven't been able to get a hold of any pictures for a few weeks. I have recently gotten a PILE of photo's, so there will be many blogs to come. The oddest part is the more photo's I get, the more cool things I do, and the snowball effect ensues. It's going to be a tough go getting all caught up. That being said, thanks for waiting, and thanks for reading. Shot to the left is of a few weekends ago, the place that I stayed at in Letterkenny, around sunset. It has been a blessing finding friends of friends to stay with for free. The next shot is the view from the rally race, at a beach in Co. Donegal, Northern Ireland.
This 'Stage' of the race was amazing. There is at least a dozen nice photo's from here, but this one shows off the view nicely. At the race that weekend, a car went off a 40 foot cliff, killing the navigator. (the navigator keeps hold of the map and tells the driver where to go). Thought to be because of a hairpin turn, which all drivers previous had been warned of the danger and told to slow down. The driver was the first not told, and has suffered two broken legs, broken ribs, and all sorts of other bad things, including killing his passenger. A very sad, tragic thing, and the race was shut down for the rest of the weekend, out of respect for the family. We did as the good ol' Irish do, went & got wasted!!!!! In memory of those who have gone, of course. And yes, that's me standing in front of a thatched cottage, drinking an 8 pack of Beamish.
The hills of Donegal... I have LOADS of these photos, these are just some of the better ones.
One of the rally cars from my view. I now can say I have been to a Rally Car Race. Bucket List, check 1 off
